Games Release Radar - June 2026 Edition
Remakes and Re-Ports Incoming! Do a Barrel Roll!
We're almost through May and have had some notable releases, such as Indiana Jones and the Great Circle for Switch 2, and Subnautica 2 on Steam as an Early Access game, and have yet to play high-profile releases, including 007 First Light (May 27), and LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight (May 27). So, instead of focusing on this month, here is a list of must- follow games releasing in June 2026!
June 3
Final Fantasy VII Rebirth (Switch 2)

Hot off the heels of FFVII's Switch 2 release in January this year, Nintendo FF fans have the chance to continue the beloved saga with the expansive (and perhaps exhaustive) sequel! Previews have been super positive about the game's performance on Switch 2, and this writer has no doubt it will do gangbuster sales again!
June 4
The 7th Guest Remake (PS5, XBOX, PC)

And a day after a prominent remake releases, another remake of a 90s video game follows. Technically a port of 2023's The 7th Guest VR, this puzzle-solving adventure has been updated to real-time rendering and FMV actors captured with volumetric cameras (i.e., they're in 3D!). Switch versions to release at a later date.
CALX (PS5, XBOX, PC)

Flying under the radar from a new Italian indie studio, True Colors, comes CALX, a 3D platformer/exploration game featuring hack-and-slash and bullet-hell mechanics. It features a gorgeous cel-shaded art style inspired by French comic artists such as Jean Giraud, aka Mœbius.
River City Saga: Journey to the West (PS5, PC, Switch)

In 2024, Publisher and Developer Game Science released Black Myth: Wukong, a Soulslike inspired by the 16th-century Chinese novel Journey to the West. Now, in 2026, veteran development studio Arc Systems is releasing a roguelike beat-'em-up based on the 16th-century Chinese novel Journey to the West, BUT it's filtered through the classic retro River City franchise. The publishers have yet to release an English-language trailer, but I did track down a Japanese video. The gameplay video features charming 2D sprites interacting with 3D backgrounds and objects.
June 5
Gothic 1 Remake (PS5, XBOX, PC)

Another day, another retelling/reimagining of a cult favorite game, Gothic 1 Remake. Originally developed by German studio Piranha Bytes, the immersive dark fantasy RPG has been remade by Spanish development studio Alkimia Interactive, founded specifically to remake Gothic. Previews of game demonstrations hosted by publisher THQ Nordic have been positive, praising the updated graphics and improved gameplay, definitely one to watch!
June 8
Solarpunk (PS5, XBOX, PC, Switch 2)

From German indie devs Cyberwave, floats in Solarpunk, a cozy survival game set in the clouds. Featuring an art style and vibes similar to those of the recently released cozy vanlife simulator Outbound, Solarpunk also includes multiplayer. An antidote if life in the Gothic remake becomes too stressful!
June 11 (Switch 2)
to a T

Legendary game designer Keita Takahashi of Katamari Damacy fame is bringing his latest game out onto Switch 2. In to a T, you control a teenager who is permanently stuck in a T pose. Help the teen as they awkwardly navigate day-to-day life in their unique condition.
June 17
Denshattack! (PS5, XBOX, PC, Switch 2)

Looking like a cross between Tony Hawk's Pro Skater and Jet Set Radio, in Denshattack! lets you pilot a souped-up train and travel across a dystopian future Tokyo. Gameplay features over 50+ levels of flips, tricks, and grinding action with extreme anime-inspired cel-shaded visuals!
June 18
The Adventures of Elliot: The Millennium Tales (PS5, XBOX, PC, Switch)

From Square Enix and the creators of Octopath Traveler and Bravely Default comes another HD-2D RPG, except this one features real-time combat! You can play a Prologue Demo that carries save data over to the full game, and can also receive Bonus items from save data of other Square Enix titles, a must-play for Zelda fans who are also fans of the gorgeous, retro-inspired art style!
June 25
Star Fox (Switch 2)

As reported earlier this month, Nintendo is releasing a new remake of Star Fox 64 exclusively for Switch 2. Featuring spiffy new updated visuals and cutscenes while retaining the original gameplay, this will be a treat for diehard fans and newcomers to the Lylat System! Pre-orders are available now.
